A new report has come out saying that a new version of the classic Game Genie is set for release this July.
According to a new report from Xbigygames, the classic Game Genie will be revived for the PS3 this July by Hyperkin. The accessory is said to be making its debut at E3 next week demonstrating its capabilities on many recent games such as Twisted Metal and Skyrim.
Instead stacking cartridges to get the software running, the Game Genie: Save Editor comes in a USB flash drive that contains an installation program that allows users to transfer save files between the PS3 and the PC.
Whether or not Sony will allow this kind of thing with their firmware and whether or not trophies would be disabled with it remains to be seen. All questions should be answered come E3 next week.
