This is the second suspension in less than a week for the Sports Entertainment company and second strike for Randy Orton.
“In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Randy Orton for 60 days effective today for his second violation of the company’s policy.”
This is the second suspension in less than a week after Chris Jericho was suspended 30 days for a flag incident on the Brazilian tour. Orton’s suspension comes due to the Wellness program though. Interesting enough is the possibility that this may actually be Orton’s third strike although Orton’s last suspension came during the build to SummerSlam 2006 and he was held off all house shows from mid-August to mid-September but, stayed on TV.
His second suspension would have come one year later during the Signature Pharmacy scandal however, WWE had determined that he had already been punished for this the year prior so, he was no suspended. Therefore, this will be his second violation of the Talent Wellness Program.
Orton will be eligible to return in late July/early August just in time for the build to SummerSlam.
