File this one in the ‘we knew it was coming’ file but, Sledgehammer Games are starting work on a new Call of Duty game.
A job advertisement has once again outed another video game project today and this time it’s a high profile one.
The job ad which seems to have been taken down just now (so I’m not even going to bother with the dead link, we know too much!) states that Sledgehammer is looking for a Senior FX Artist to help “create the most exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for [its] next Call of Duty game”.
The candidate must have “solid professional experience and knowledge of the limitations and performance of current generation hardware (360, PS3),” all but confirming that the game will show up on current-gen hardware.
It’s unknown at this time whether the game would be the standard first person shooter COD or whether they would continue work on their third-person COD spinoff that was widely speculated on last year.
Regardless, a new COD is coming this year with Black Ops II and most likely next year with this recent announcement.
