Voltion and Guillermo Del Toro won’t be working together after all as THQ has cancelled inSane.
THQ confirmed today that the new IP, inSane has been shelved. The company confirmed the news during an earnings call today as well as confirming that the rights to the IP would revert back to Guillermo Del Toro.
inSane was to be the first foray into gaming for Del Toro and the game was to be developed by Volition, the developers of the Saints Row franchise.
It’s hard to say what went on during the development of the game but, it’s obvious to say that in the broken state THQ has been in lately that they weren’t willing to take a gamble on an unproven new IP.
