It appears that one a big niche game from the past is getting a remastered version on the PC next year. ClayFighter Remastered is a go!
Interplay and Drip Drop Games have announced that a remastered version of ClayFighter will release for PC in 2016.
According to the press release, it will include “characters such as Bad Mr. Frosty, Blue Suede Goo, Earthworm Jim, Hoppy, Boogerman, Tiny – and more with over 20 characters total.” There will also be 20 familiar environments to fight in.
Additionally, new mechanics such as double jumping, air dashing, counters, and reversals are also to be introduced. Each character will have its own unique supers and ‘Claytality’ moves.
The entire game will feature remastered audio and high resolution visuals.
This seems like an exciting prospect for a game that hasn’t seen a release in since the N64.
For your viewing pleasure, I’ve included the Clayfighter episode of ‘James and Mike Mondays’ (James being the Angry Video Game Nerd).
