Chicago has been busy in advance of the upcoming NHL trade deadline grabbing Antoine Vermette from the Arizona Coyotes.
The Chicago Blackhawks acquired centre Antoine Vermette from the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night for a first-round pick this year and defensive prospect Klas Dahlbeck.
“Antoine is the consummate professional and a class act and we wish him the best of luck in the future,” Coyotes general manager Don Maloney said in a statement.
The 23-year-old Dahlbeck has a goal in four games for Chicago this season. The Swede has four goals and six assists in 49 games for Rockford in the American Hockey League.
“Klas Dahlback is a big, strong, two-way defenceman who skates well and competes hard,” Maloney said.
This deal comes on the heels of the acquisition of Kimmo Timonen on Friday night and should help fill the void of the injury to star forward Patrick Kane.
