Valve is making it easier to stream content on your home network with Steam Link.
Valve announced Steam Link today at GDC 2015 which will apparently allow you to stream content from any PC, Mac, Steam Machine, or Linux-based computer on the same home network.
According to Valve, the Steam Link device will offer “low latency” streaming of Steam games in 1080p resolution at 60 Hz. The device will retail for $50 USD this November, and launch alongside the Steam Controller (which also carries a $50 USD price tag). Global pricing for Steam Link has yet to be announced.
Steam Link will work more like a set-top box than the traditional home-steaming options already offered by Steam, capturing the stream from a PC and cheaply displaying it on a living room HDTV.
