The first goalie deal of the day sees the Islanders and Sabres swapping tenders.

The New York Islanders have acquired goaltender Michal Neuvirth from the Buffalo Sabres for goaltender Chad Johnson and a conditional 2016 third-round pick.

Neuvirth, 26, is 6-17-3 in 27 games this season with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.

Johnson, 28, is 8-8-1 in 17 games started this season with a 3.08 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage. Johnson has one year remaining on a $2.6 million, two-year deal.
