Red Wings Grab Zidlicky From Devils

The Red Wings have their defenceman and he isn’t named Phaneuf.

The New Jersey Devils have traded defenceman Marek Zidlicky to the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional third-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft. Should the Red Wings advance to the Stanley Cup Final, the third-round pick will become a second-rounder.

In 63 games with the Devils this season, Zidlicky has scored four goals and 19 assists.

The 38-year-old is currently on a one-year deal with a cap hit of $4 million.
