Johnny Oduya is on his way back to the Chicago Blackhawks as the Dallas Stars unloaded him less than 24 hours before the NHL Trade Deadline.
The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired veteran defenceman Johnny Oduya from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Mark McNeill and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
The 35-year-old comes with a cap hit of $3.75 million but becomes an unrestricted free agent following the season. Oduya suited up for 37 games with the Stars this season and recently returned to action after missing approximately six weeks with an ankle injury.
McNeill, 24, has six goals and 22 assists in 58 games with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs this season. The Blackhawks selected McNeill 18th overall in the 2011 draft.
