The Winnipeg Jets have traded forward Drew Stafford to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a conditional sixth-round draft pick.
Stafford, 31, has four goals and nine assists through 40 games with the Jets this season—a season in which he’s been frustrated by injuries.
The veteran forward, drafted 13th overall by Buffalo in 2004, was acquired by Winnipeg at the 2015 deadline as part of the deal that sent Evander Kane to the Sabres.
A Milwaukee native, Stafford is in the final year of a two-year, $8.7-million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Across 707 career NHL games, the six-foot-two right-winger has netted 179 goals and 213 assists.
