The Calgary Flames kept themselves busy on Thursday by bringing back veteran forward Kris Versteeg on a one-year deal.

The 31-year-old from Lethbridge, Alb., played 69 games for the Flames last season, scoring 15 goals and 37 points — his highest total since 2011-2012 with the Florida Panthers.

Versteeg scored one goal and added three assists in the Flames’ four-game playoff series last season.
