The Vegas Golden Knights are shipping defenceman Marc Methot to the Dallas Stars before he could even play a game in Las Vegas.
Marc Methot’s stay with the Vegas Golden Knights lasted five days. Vegas traded the defenseman to the Dallas Stars on Monday In return for goalie Dylan Ferguson and a 2020 second-round pick.
Methot has spent the past five seasons with the Ottawa Senators, having spent much of his time alongside Erik Karlsson on the team’s first pairing.
The 32-year-old is not known for his offensive capabilities, having totaled 21 goals and 120 points in 579 career NHL games.
The Golden Knights selected Methot in the NHL Expansion Draft on June 21.
The Ottawa native signed a four-year, $19.6 million deal with the Senators on February 16, 2015.
He has two years left on his current deal that expires at the end of the 2018-19 season at $4.9 million per year.
