The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired forward Tomas Tatar from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a first-rounder in 2018, a second-rounder in 2019 and a third-round pick in 2021.
In 61 games so far this season, Tatar has 17 goals and 24 assists.The Red Wings are not expected to retain any of Tatar’s salary, according to Craig Custance of The Athletic.
Tatar is signed through the 2020-21 season with a cap hit of $5.3 million per year.
The Vegas Golden Knights also traded F Brendan Leipsic to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for D Philip Holm.
Holm has appeared in one game with the Canucks this season. He has 11 goals and 29 points in 42 games with the AHL’s Utica Comets this season.
Leipsic has two goals and 13 points in 44 games this season.
“We’ve followed Leipsic for a while. He adds speed, quickness, and skill that we need. We’re going to give him an opportunity to play with skilled players so we can see what he can do,” Canucks general manager Jim Benning said.
