After various rumours came out last week about WWE getting rid of brand-exclusive PPVs after WrestleMania, they’ve finally confirmed that to be the case.
After WrestleMania, you’ll get the best of both brands – Raw and SmackDown LIVE – every month, on every pay-per-view.
WrestleMania 34 – April 8, 2018
WWE Backlash – May 6, 2018
WWE Money in the Bank – June 17, 2018
WWE Extreme Rules – July 15, 2018
SummerSlam – Aug. 19, 2018
WWE Hell in a Cell – Sept. 16, 2018
WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs – Oct. 21, 2018
Survivor Series – Nov. 18, 2018
WWE Clash of Champions – Dec. 16, 2018
It looks like Great Balls of Fire, No Mercy, Payback, and Battleground are getting the axe from the schedule.
I think this was a great move for WWE. Having a monthly PPV is all that is needed for both brands as there just aren’t enough compelling stories to have brand-exclusive PPVs. The 6-8 week build was giving us meaningless episodes of Raw and SmackDown at different times of the year and I think we’ll see better storylines coming out of this. Less is more.
