Ryan Strome has signed a two-year deal to remain with the Edmonton Oilers.
Strome was drafted fifth overall by the New York Islanders in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The 24-year-old totaled 94 points in 53 games for the Niagara Ice Dogs in the OHL before posting 18 in 37 games in his first season.
After the 2016-17 season, when Strome recorded 30 points and the Islanders missed the playoffs for the first time since Strome’s rookie campaign, New York traded Strome to the Edmonton Oilers for Jordan Eberle.
In his first year in Edmonton, Strome played a full 82-game slate for the first time in his career, notching 13 goals and 34 points in his first season in Edmonton. Strome has 58 goals and 160 points in his 340-game NHL career.
