Tell us a little bit about yourselves

We are a Los Angeles based band with two female lead singers. We make feel good music from the heart that will help you get through your day. It may even make you want to get up and dance, which we should all do from time to time. It’s the best release!

How did you all come together to form Karmic?

We all met at music school together in Los Angeles. After that, we all did our own projects but always wanted to do one together and now we finally made it happen.

How would you describe your musical style?

A blend of indie, pop, electronic and soul with lots of vocal harmonies. Our live shows are really fun and you will definitely feel buzzed after. It’s like having a sound bath. We hope it leaves you feeling cleansed and charged with good energy.

You put out a single earlier this year called “Warriors”. Tell us about that song.

That song was really important to us because we are very passionate about women equality and we feel so grateful to be apart of that movement. We wanted that song to inspire females to not only stand up for their rights but to stand up together and support each other. We made a really cool video for it too with a pretty powerful group of women. It was so fun!

You recently returned from your debut “Higher Self” tour in Europe. What was that experience like?

It was our very first tour, so it definitely was a dream come true. We met so many lovely people and ate so much good food! We also drank a lot of delicious beer. It’s crazy to think that we are about to embark on round 2 over there. We are going on tour starting in February and we will be playing shows in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and the Czech Republic. Its pretty surreal to see people know all the lyrics to your songs and watch them sing along. We are so lucky to be able to share our music and spread the positive energy.

Your cover of “Auld Lang Syne” was just released. What was the thought-process in covering that song versus one of the more prominent holiday songs out there?

The melody of that song is so beautiful and it has always touched us every time we’ve heard it. It’s very emotional and I think that’s why it’s traditionally played on New Years. It’s about reflecting on the past year and what you may have lost or gained and celebrating that.

With 2018 winding to a close, what are your goals for 2019?

We want to come out with our first EP and keep writing and playing music. We definitely want to collaborate more with other artists and make more music videos. Our first US tour would be awesome as well.

Do you have any upcoming shows? What can audiences expect when they see you live?

We just had a December residency at the Bootleg Theater in LA, which was a huge success! Thanks to everyone that came out every night. Unfortunately, we will not be having any more shows in the US until we get back from tour. We will soon be posting our Euro tour schedule on our website.

What advice would you have for aspiring singers/songwriters?

Never stop creating! Even when you feel like it’s not good enough or other people say it will never happen. You have to believe in your self and your music and as long as it’s genuine and coming from the heart then you will be alright.

What are your lives like outside of the studio?

We all live together in one house so our lives are pretty much the same outside of the studio haha. We like to get out into nature as much as possible. We love camping and going to Joshua Tree to escape. Anywhere where there is no cell service. It so important to unplug.
