Tell us a little bit about yourselves.

We’re Sun K and we’re a 5 piece rock band from Toronto, Canada.

How did you guys all come together?

Mainly through mutual friends in the music scene. Kevin and I (this is Kristian, hey!) met as arch-nemesis competing songwriters when we were in our early twenties and both living in a small suburb of Toronto. We randomly met again at a bar in Toronto a few years later and ave up the grudge for the greater good of music lovers worldwide.

How would you describe your musical style?

Gritty rock’n’roll mixed with west coast harmony, seasoned with hints of smoky psychedelia.

You’ve recently released your sophomore album “Bleeding Hearts”. What can listeners expect from this album?

Sonically it’s what’s described in the previous answer. Beyond that expect a full record with a wide spectrum of styles and emotions. If you don’t listen till the end you may just miss you favourite song of the record.

What did you learn after creating your first album that you’ve applied to this album?

I’m always learning more about production techniques and am always trying to push what we do sonically. I think I realized that I can be more bold with tones and decisions.

You have also released the video for “High in the City”. What can you tell us about the song and the video behind it?

The song is about enjoying an ideal summer day. I guess we’re pretty lucky to have a career that lets us do that. It’s just about having a good day and trying to enjoy our moments more than we already do. The video just captures us trying to do just that. Beers, boats, smokes, tokes, friends, jokes and a firework show at the end. What more could you want?

You’re going on a cross-Canada tour starting February 21st. What type of experience can audiences expect from one of your live shows?

The most fun you’ve ever had in your life. It might get sweaty.

What’s next for the band beyond the tour?

More touring, hopefully some international dates and more music. Always be creating!

What advice do you have for aspiring musicians?

Always be creating and stick to your guns.

What are your lives like outside of the band?

Wish I could say I’m doing something cool but I’m currently in an office working on a computer filing forms and sending emails like most of the rest of the world…. 😉
