The Dallas Stars have acquired defenceman Ben Lovejoy from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenceman Connor Carrick and a third-round pick in 2019.

In 52 games this season, Lovejoy has two goals and five assists. The Concord, NH has averaged 17:35 of ice-time a night this season.

Lovejoy, 35, is in his 11th NHL and was in his third with the Devils.

Undrafted out of Dartmouth, Lovejoy has appeared in 524 games in his career with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, and Devils. He was a member of the Pens’ 2016 Stanley Cup winning team.

Carrick, 24, has appeared in 14 games for the Stars this season after being acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs during the preseason. He has a goal and three assists.

A native of Orland Park, IL, Carrick has appeared in 181 NHL games over five NHL seasons with the Washington Capitals, Leafs, and Stars.
