This last Thursday, March 7, 3D Realms, the original creators behind the classic Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior series, dropped a trailer for a new game that they are producing made within the old legendary Quake engine. The game is Called Wrath: Aeon of Ruin (a truly 90’s title if I have ever heard one) and is being developed by KillPixel, a small studio comprised of veteran Quake modders. Wrath: Aeon of Ruin is a fast-paced fantasy horror FPS and designed as a love letter to the first-person shooters of the 90’s such as Quake and Doom being produced by the people that brought us some of those much-beloved hits. I, for one, am ready to step back into those retro shoes and kill demons once more
If everything goes smoothly, Wrath: Aeon of Ruin will be coming to PC, Xbox One, PS4, and even Switch in early 2020.
If you could have a game built by veterans of gaming’s past what type of love-letter game would you like to see reemerge back onto the gaming scene?
