In exciting gaming news as of late, Gearbox, the developers of the Borderlands series (and Aliens Colonial Marines, but let’s just put that aside for a bit) on their official developer twitter released an image *see above* teasing a large announcement happening on March 28 at PAX East in Boston.
Though it isn’t straight up confirmed that this announcement has anything to do with Borderlands, the cell-shading, style, and the FACT THAT THERE IS A 3 ON IT (sorry, I’m just getting excited), has all but confirmed this in the minds of all who have seen it.
The Borderlands series took loot-shooters into the big time with its first two games, while also optimizing first-person shooter RPG’s; showing that it was not only possible but damn fun. Not being satisfied with these innovations alone, the Borderlands series was packed with so much personality that it almost has enough to share with all the grey-brown Call of Duty’s and Battlefield’s of the industry. Seriously, Borderlands 2 is one of my favorite games, if you haven’t tried it out at this point, please do yourself a solid and join the rest of the community in salivation.
But what will this game be?
Will it be a more traditional Borderlands experience with bigger ideas?
Will Borderlands move into the popular live-service crowd?
I guess we’ll find out quite soon – but what do you want to see from Borderlands 3?
