The first part of our Lion King playthrough on Sega Genesis is here going through a young Simba in The Pridelands to coming to take back the kingdom!

Part 1: Welcome to the first video of a new series! This Let’s Play featuring my girlfriend is over the Sega Genesis game The Lion King! Obviously we start on the first level, The Pridelands.

Part 2: In the first trippy level of the game, time to roar at some monkeys and get thrown around as we go through the “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” scene from the movie.

Part 3: “Everything the light touches is our kingdom.” The Elephant Graveyard is not touched by light so not part of the kingdom. But of course Simba can’t resist checking it out. And why is there a place specifically for elephants anyway?

Part 4: The wildebeest are stampeding with Simba in the canyon. Can we keep from getting trampled and make it out alive?

Part 5: Simba has “killed” his father. Scar has told him to run away. The hyenas are chasing him through a tangled growth leading out of the Pridelands. Simba must make it through and escape.

Part 6: In a video I’m surprised didn’t get a copyright claim, we have made it to the area where Timon and Pumbaa live, despite never actually seeing them, and are going through a fun little sequence to a much-beloved tune.

Part 7: With a now adult Simba, we go through the night encountering Rafiki a few times as we strive to understand what it is we need to do. Or at least, that is my assumption based on how the movie went.
