Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m Greta, I write, record and perform songs. I live in London, I speak Spanish, and if this was a job interview I would say I’m a workaholic and a perfectionist haha…
How did you get into music?
It was a little random actually, they were offering guitar lessons at my school when I was around 7 and I really wanted to learn. I’m thinking ‘twinkle twinkle’ was the first song they taught us. Hardcore I know. I got into writing and producing a bit after when I found the program Garageband on the computer.
How would you describe your musical style?
Singer-songwriter at its core, everything else is always shifting.
How have you evolved since your debut single, “Lost in Mexico”?
I think I’ve just experienced more so I’ve been able to tell different stories. I’ve also pushed myself be more honest; with the most recent release Internet Love there were a few lines where I thought ‘I cant say that?’ but then you just kind of have to fight that instinct for the greater good of the song.
What can you tell us about your latest single, “Internet Love”?
It’s about meeting people online, the new ways of communicating now, both the good and the bad…
Do you have any plans for an EP or full-length album anytime soon?
I’d love to release a longer body of work but still figuring out exactly how I want it to go about it.
What can audiences expect from your next live show on Dec 17th at The Finsbury in London?
An exciting live set, lots of my released songs and a cover or two!
What’s next for you in 2020?
More shows, more music, more people hearing it 🙂
What advice do you have for aspiring singers/songwriters?
Write every day and try not to be too critical of yourself as you learn.
