  1. It doesn’t look like the silver variant is rare from anything I can find online. There’s very little information other than the fact that EGM seemingly used to do this with their covers from time to time. It certainly would seem like the silver cover is the rarer of the two. A quick eBay search puts the gold one around $20 USD and the silver one around $30 USD.

  2. I have EGM September 2000 with an alternate cover. It’s silver and features Pokemon #249 Lugia instead of Ho-Oh. Is this a rare copy? Worth anything? Any idea how many gold vs. silver covers we published? Most all of the image on the web are the gold cover, so I’m hoping this silver cover is rare!
