After around a month of speculation, former NXT Champion Adam Cole has decided to join All Elite Wrestling!
If you’ve been following wrestling at all lately, Adam Cole’s name hasn’t been far away. The former WWE NXT Champion has just completed an NXT contract which he extended by a few weeks to have one final match with Kyle O’Reilly at NXT Takeover 36. Cole was then was rumored to become a free agent last Friday and the speculation began as to whether he would resign with WWE or jump to AEW. We got our answer last night at AEW All Out.
Shortly after Kenny Omega’s successful AEW World Championship defense against Christian Cage, Kenny cut a promo in the ring before being interrupted by the debuting Cole sporting an “All Elite Bay Bay” shirt. They teased tension between the two before Cole revealed that he was rejoining The Elite.
Cole comes in as one of the most successful members of the NXT roster holding every NXT championship title (besides the Cruiserweight) and being a prominent fixture on the brand for 4 years leading The Undisputed Era faction for the bulk of that time. Cole is one of the few NXT stars to never make his way to the main roster and one of the main reasons many had for him re-signing with WWE was the opportunity to move up to the main roster.
Adam Cole is a huge signing for AEW and adding him to an already stacked lineup in The Elite is sure to offer up some fresh stories.
